Our Story: Where Hawaiian Spirit Meets Veteran Pride
High on the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa, where ancient Hawaiian legends speak of the industrious Menehune working under moonlight, our story begins. We’re not just named after these mythical craftsmen – we embody their spirit of dedication, quality, and tireless work.
From Service to Soil
Our journey started with service to country, and evolved into service to the land. As a veteran-owned business, we brought the same discipline and attention to detail from military service to coffee farming. Every morning at dawn, we tend to our coffee trees with the precision of a mission and the heart of aloha.
The Only True Farm-to-Cup Experience
Unlike many coffee companies that source from multiple farms, we ARE the farm. When you order Menehune Coffee, you’re getting beans that were handpicked on our slopes, processed in our mill within hours of harvest, and roasted in small batches just for you. We control every step because your perfect cup depends on it.
Where Tradition Meets Innovation
Our wet processing method honors traditional Kona techniques – handpicking only the ripest cherries, same-day milling to prevent any compromise in quality, and careful 12-hour fermentation that develops the complex flavors Kona coffee is famous for. We’ve invested in modern equipment not to replace craftsmanship, but to enhance it.
More Than Coffee – It’s Ohana
From our cafe at 84-5227 Mamalahoa Highway where locals gather for morning talk story, to shipping our coffee to your mainland home, we’re building ohana (family) one cup at a time. Every bag carries not just premium 100% Kona coffee, but the mana (spiritual energy) of our land and the aloha spirit of our people.
